The Sanskirt word “Krissna” means the fragrant resin from the heartwood of some Aquilaria or Oud trees. There is a Buddhist belief that there was Krissna wood in the Hindu God Krishna’s hand when he was born. Krissna incense is therefore used in religious ceremonies and devotion to Lord Krishna. Krissna or Oud has been used for medicinal purposes for thousands of years, and continues to be used in Ayurvedic, Tibetan, and traditional East Asian medicine. It's rich scented fragrance has been used for centuries as a perfume in the Middle East and Asia.
Our Krissna Incense is hand rolled by our lovely small scale fair trade producers in Thailand. They have a large garden where they grow their own Oud Trees, they harvest the oud wood, dry it in the sun and then crush the wood into a fine powder. They then get a fine stick of bamboo which they roll in a little natural gum to make it sticky then roll it in the Krissna powder.
Because our incense is entirely natural you get a beautiful scent unlike many of the commercial incenses which merely spray their incense sticks with perfume which smells great in the packet but not so good when it burns!
Our Krissna incense comes in a pack containing 8 high quality incense sticks, each stick measures 8 inches / 20.5 cm and will burn for 20 - 25 mins in a still room.
